The more traffic you get, the more clicks you will get. Look for long term traffic so that it makes it easier for you later to sit back for a while and watch your money flow.
but you don’t have to be a SEO expert (search engine optimization).
You just need to know the following:

1- Add meta tags to your page like this:.

- put a relevant short description of your blog in the meta description tag

- assign keywords or keyphrases separated by commas. These keywords should be extremely related to the content of your page to maximize your ads consistency. e.g : If your page is about law.
your keywords may look like : criminal law, international law, law suits, lawyers etc..

Don’t forget to put the meta tags before the title tag on every page of your blog. Also the title should have your keywords mentioned in it in a smart way.
Normally, if your site is about hotels, and one of your keywords is the word : hotels. Of-course your title will be something like : best hotels for summer time in florida etc.
P.S: Try to choose high paying keywords. Some keywords like money, cars, adsense, travel, credit repair and many others pay high up to $20 per click but don’t also forget to choose the less competitive keywords (3-5 word-phrase keyword that still pay high per click) in order not to suffer from weak ranking on google.
